Winter 2024-25 Sports Registration is now open!   

First day of practice/tryouts is November 18th for all sports except Ice Hockey which is November 11th.  Refunds will be given for 2 weeks after the 1st day of practices, until November 29th. 

Winter sports include Boys and Girls Basketball, Boys and Girls Wrestling, Girls Swim & Dive and Ice Hockey.  Registration for Ice Hockey (co-op with Chaparral) and Girls Wrestling (co-op with Ponderosa) can be found on their websites.

 

Fall 2024-25 Sports Registration is closed.

First day of practice/tryouts is August 12th for all sports but Boys Golf which is August 5th.

Refunds will be given for 2 weeks after the 1st day of practices, until August 23rd. 

Fall sports include: Cross Country, Football, Girls Flag Football, Boys Golf, Boys Soccer, Softball, Boys Tennis and Girls Volleyball.  Field Hockey (co-op with Mountain Vista) and Gymnastics (co-op with Ponderosa) will have registration information on their websites.

 

Spring 2024-25 Sports Registration will open early February.     

Spring sports include Baseball, Girls Golf, Boys Lacrosse, Girls Lacrosse, Girls Soccer, Girls Tennis, Track & Field and Boys Volleyball.  Registration for Boys Swim & Dive (co-op with Ponderosa) can be found on their website.

Registration steps:

There are 3 steps to the registration process for LHS Sports.  All MUST be completed before the first day of Official practice in order for the athlete to be eligible:

1.  Register for your sport AND
2.  Pay the $200 athletic fee.  Please complete your payment AFTER you register for your sport.  REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT ARE TWO TOTALLY SEPARATE TASKS.  To complete payment login to MySchoolBucks AFTER you have completed your registration.  
Within two weeks of tryouts, if an athlete chooses not to continue participating in his/her sport, a full or partial refund may be given.  Athletes that are cut from their sport will be refunded.  After the Athletics Office receives verification from the coach you receive a full refund of the athletic participation fee.  NO REFUNDS after the first contest.
3.  Have a current Sports Physical on file with the Athletic Office.  Click here for our Physical Form.  Legend is moving towards a paperless system for physicals. Please upload your physical during registration.  If you don't have it available at that time, you can login at a later date to upload. Students registering for Athletics must have a current physical examination on file in the Athletic office before the student is authorized to participate in practice/tryouts. To ensure clearance for participation, physicals should be completed and uploaded in the registration system prior to the first day of practice/tryouts.  Physicals are valid for 1 year from the date of the last exam.

You will need your Student's LHS ID number. Have it available before starting registration. 

 

ATHLETIC FEES

  • There is an athletic fee charged for each sport in which the athlete participates.

  • The athletic fee for all participating athletes must be paid PRIOR to an athlete’s participation in any sport.

  • Athletes who have a financial hardship may apply for a waiver of this fee by submitting a written request to officials at their school. At Legend High School, the Athletic Director will present alternatives to the fee schedule after reviewing the individual circumstances. Finances should not prevent a student from participating in the athletic program.

  • Refund Policy -- Refunds will be made to the athletes who are cut by their coach. If an athlete moves from the school’s attendance area or from the District, the fee will be refunded on a prorated basis. Athletes, who quit the sport, become academically ineligible or are suspended from participation for disciplinary reasons, are not eligible for a refund. After two weeks of the official start of the season, no refunds will be issued.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR HOMESCHOOLED, CHARTER OR PRIVATE SCHOOL STUDENTS ONLY: 
If  you are NOT a Legend student,  all students homeschooled, or enrolled in a private or charter school who wish to participate on a LHS athletic team MUST FIRST complete an online form to dual-enroll as a LHS student for the purpose of extracurricular activities.  You will not be able to register for your sport until this form has been completed and processed.  Use this link to enroll for Athletics only.  Please contact stephanie.banks@dcsdk12.org AFTER July 1st to begin this process.  

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS: 
If the student has transferred from another school in the past 12 months, please contact the Athletic Director or Athletic Secretary for further instructions. 

 

TRYOUTS FOR CUTS SPORTS: Per new District Policy, tryouts for cut sports are CLOSED to spectators and parents.
